Well the rain is not getting me down, but it did make me think about the last couple times I got to go out and Plein Air Paint.  We bought a new house and the only thing I have been painting is wall and staining concrete floors!! Lol But it looks like we have come together on the plan for my new Studio so it will all be worth it.

Break Through -- Sold

What a wet rainy day at Callaway Gardens, then suddenly the light breaks through the clouds and falls through the tress…

Well, actually the sun never did come out that day but that is the joy of being a painter, you can put the sun where ever you want it!!!!

Measure Up

For me growing as an artist is a never ending battle between self-confidence and self-criticism. In my efforts to “Measure Up” to my own expectations, about the time I gain confidence in my skills, I see something that makes me raise the bar!

I hope that never changes, the joy I feel every time I learn something new or find a way to improve a painting  is such a trill, I can hardly wait to start the next!

Breakfast Club

Just before my Daughter graduated from Berry College, we met for Breakfast at Honeymoon Bakery, one of her favorite perks of being at Berry!!!  This painting is my way to celebrate those special moments of getting to be a Mom!

It’s funny that in some ways we can be total opposites yet for the most part we are so much alike there is no doubt we were cut from the same mold.

The same holds true for my Mom and I, I could not think of a better way to Say “Happy Mother’s day”  because just thinking about that day is all I need to realize what a lucky Mom I am!!!!

Callaway Gardens Paint Out -- Sold

Hangin' Round

I thought this an appropriate painting to get back to posting with, though I have been doing anything but Hangin’ Around. In the Last few weeks I have participated in three paint outs and one workshop all while trying to buy a house. I will try and update you on all the fun in the coming post.

I have recently joined Daily Paint Works and will be participating in their on line Actions and you can get more info on that by clicking on the DPW Widget on the right side of my Blog.

Marin County, CA

“A Good Vintage”
Oil on Linen
24” x 36”

The reference for this was from my trip to Marin County, CA with my painting buddy Teresa Madsen.
I enjoyed painting the combinations of textures while trying to maintain the authenticity of the scene.   My goal was to create an illusion that you could step into the truck and begin a journey back in time.
